I've got a lot of my list of things done today. Credit card companies were contacted about my travel, the writing/creativity exercises were edited and printed out (and transferred over to the pod), texts were sent and received from the sib in Italy so that I know I can contact him. Itineraries were given the final edit and sent off to mom, the sib, and
gra_is_stor so they will know where to find me on any given day. My carry-on bag was packed and weighed, coming out to just under 22 pounds, which includes a number of things that will be either weigh less by the time I have to carry it onto the Manchester to Rennes flight, or they won't be in the bag at all. I think that will work out okay.
Things I still have to do include writing up a meditation for the day when I'm not teaching, entering all the contact info for everyone I'm visiting into my phone, picking up ribbons for tying on the clootie trees at the wells (a small spool of ribbon from a crafts/fabric store will be just fine), calling the phone company about a European roaming plan, and making sure all the last minute packing details are attended to.
I also need to do a quick listing of essential phrases I may need in French and Czech. The sib will be with me in Italy, so I won't really need them for Italian. Stuff like "where is the nearest bathroom," "I am lost," "can you help me find the police," "please," "thank you," "where is an ATM," and "do you speak English" are on the list. You know, the stuff people really should have a clue about how to say. ;) If any of y'all can help me out, please do let me know. I would deeply appreciate it.
No doubt other things will raise their unattractive heads at some point, but right now that's about all my brain is coming up with. And so, to bed. Mostly to curl up with a hot pad on my cramping parts, and read for a bit.
