A lovely but wet day in Kildare

Brighid's cross
We met the Brigidine sisters today and had a lovely time with them, receiving the flame and listening to them speak of Brigid and their work. After that we made our way to the two wells for our opening ritual. We got heavily rained on, which necessitated a revision of our opening ritual, but things went well and everyone was remembered and prayed for under the pouring rain. Dinner was very tasty, and then we had the opening discussion of the pilgrimage itself.

My eye is getting blacker but my neck isn't doing too badly and Jhenah did a little neck cracking for me. Tomorrow is Newgrange, Knowth, Dowth, and Trinity Well before we head for our B&B in Sligo. I should have a little more time to write here after tomorrow.

This has been so wonderful thus far. I can hardly believe I'm here. It's such a blessing, and thank you to everyone who sent funds and encouragement.

thewronghands - did you prefer a field guide to trees or to plants more generally?
