It's been a busy past couple of days. Today I had several folks over for bad movie night for Melody's birthday. We had a potluck, two Dr Phibes movies, and Mars Attacks. Food was tasty, much fun was had by all.
Saturday night was the Abney Park show down at Studio Seven. They had two opening bands and some aerialists.
The first band up was The Bog Hoppers. They were a kind of punky band doing Irish pub music. They were okay, but I can't say I was hugely impressed.

The next band up was more fun. Good Co, an electro-swing band, was fun to listen to. We had gone upstairs to the bar to sit and watch from there, so we weren't down on the main floor. I might have tried a little swing dancing with
gra_is_stor if we'd been down there. I picked up one of their cds.

The had a couple of aerialists at the show and for this, I was really pleased to be up above the crowd, as I hadn't seen a performance from above before. Three photos here:

And, finally, Abney Park was everything an Abney Park show should be -- equipment failures, Robert forgetting lyrics, epic music, and fun with my friends. I think their stage costumes have got far less elaborate since I started watching them a few years back, but they're still a hell of a lot of fun.

In April they'll be doing a show here in Everett, with Steam Powered Giraffe, who should be fun to watch. I've seen some of their vids and I have one of their cds. I've already got my tickets (for me and
gra_is_stor), so we're all set for that.
And now, trying to catch up with the rest of my day -- I spent all "morning" cleaning the place so we'd have space for everyone, and so that there would be ample room for the potluck. I was quite successful in this endeavor, but it also means that all the research stuff I had stacked on the table and the breakfast bar is now stacked up on the coffee table in the library. I have things to sort through and tomorrow I'll try to get back to work on the Irish Healing Deities session. I have a goodly number of figures to list now, along with small snippets of information on some of them. For a fair few, it's just a list of names without any more real information or any tales, but it's still a place for people to start. I won't be able to comb every last Irish manuscript looking for names, but I figured I should do my best before I sat down to compile my finalized list for the session.

Looks like it was great, as usual...very much wish I could have been there.
April, however, I'm sure I can do. It's not likely I'll have much teaching then, so getting back and forth might be easier and with wider latitude for coming and going, etc. But, I may not be able to get tickets until after PantheaCon.
